Fantasy Locations (part 2)

Presentation of the next group of illustrations for "Loot Lust" series - a mysterious fantasy game. One of a few things I know about it is the fact, that there will be grim castles, dark forests, inaccessible mountains , sharp rocks... You can check it yourself  (in this and the previous post). Actually this is only a part of sceneries where the action takes place because I was commissioned to illustrate one of several levels.

The biggest challenge was to show vast spaces and long distances on a flat sheet of paper (well, paper for drawing is usually flat :) ). Considering that those illustrations are monochromatic I couldn't use the fact, that the warm-colored elements of landscapes seem to be closer than the cold-colored ones. Anyway I could still play with saturation of details in the foreground and delicate painting in the background.

 

Prezentacja dalszej części ilustracji z serii "Loot Lust" - tajemniczej gry fantasy, o której wiem głównie to, że będą tam ponure zamczyska, ciemne lasy, niedostępne górskie zbocza, ostre skały... Zresztą możecie zobaczyć sami (w tym oraz poprzednim wpisie). Właściwie to tylko część miejsc, gdzie będzie się odbywać akcja, ponieważ zlecono mi ilustrowanie jednego z kilku etapów. 

Największym wyzwaniem było pokazanie rozległych przestrzeni i dużych odległości na płaskiej kartce papieru (cóż, kartki papieru do rysowania zazwyczaj są płaskie :) ). Biorąc pod uwagę, że ilustracje są monochromatyczne, nie można było wykorzystać faktu, że elementy krajobrazu w ciepłej kolorystyce wydają się być bliżej, niż te w chłodnej. Pozostała na szczęście   możliwość nasycenia detalami pierwszego planu oraz malowanie dalszych planów bardziej rozwodnioną akwarelą.

"Craven Digs" - this inventive machinery is certainly used for extracting SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT. Hopefully one day I'll find out what that "SOMETHING (...)" is.

"Craven Digs" - ta przemyślana maszyneria z pewnością służy do wydobywania CZEGOŚ NIEZWYKLE WAŻNEGO. Być może kiedyś dowiem się, czym to "COŚ (...)" jest.

Fantasy Locations (part 1)

Hi all! I'd like to show you some of scenery illustrations I made for an upcoming  game called "Loot Lust" http://www.wagglegames.com/Site/Coming_Soon....html . Fantasy landscapes are definitely my favorite themes! Illustrations were finished over a year ago but the game itself is still in the preparation phase. They were made with pen and watercolors. Afterwards their color was digitally adjusted.

Witajcie! Chciałabym pokazać Wam część ilustracji, które zrobiłam do gry "Loot Lust" http://www.wagglegames.com/Site/Coming_Soon....html . Fantastyczne krajobrazy są zdecydowanie moim ulubionym tematem! Ilustracje są wprawdzie skończone od przeszło roku, jednak sama gra jest jeszcze w fazie przygotowań. Zostały wykonane piórkiem i akwarelą, a następnie ujednolicone kolorystycznie komputerowo. 

Somehow I cannot cobble together any spirited sentence  today. Perhaps I'll demonstrate the eloquence next week, while presenting other works from the series :)

Jakoś ciężko mi sklecić dzisiaj porywającą wypowiedź.  Być może w przyszłym tygodniu wykażę się większą  elokwencją przy okazji prezentacji kolejnych ilustracji z tej serii :)
